Shoot What You Get for Charity

By now most tattoo enthusiasts have heard of “Get What You Get” – the game of tattoo chance. We love the idea of leaving your design to the Tattoo Gods, but we wanted to add our own spin to the typical gum ball machine game. Inspired by “Crapshoot” by Adam Hawthorn at Big Trouble Tattoo and the flash of Charlie Cartwright at Good Time Charlie’s Tattoo Parlor we came up with “Shoot What You Get For Charity”.

Shoot What You Get is pretty simple; first you choose one of our nerf guns and then you use it to shoot at a wall of flash. Whichever flash design your nerf dart lands on is the tattoo you get! All tattoos are $100 for black and grey and $150 for color. The tattoo price of your tattoo goes to a rotating charity. Twice a year we pick a new charity to be the recipient of all Shoot What You Get donations. Because we believe in supporting our local community every charity serves the Capital Region. If you have a local charity you would like us to consider please email us at

Current Charity:

Starting January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022 Shoot What You Get will be benefiting the Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa. Gateway House is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide a safe, comfortable and caring home to terminally ill patients under the medical care of Hospice. Thanks to their generous donors, Gateway House is able to provide this housing at no charge to their residents. They are 100% donor funded, meaning they do not receive insurance reimbursements or state or government funding. While there are a few staff members, the house is mostly supported by volunteers. Their volunteer opportunities include caregiving, housekeeping, gardening, meal prep, fundraising as well as the opportunity for special talents (i.e. licensed massage therapy, help with printing materials, licensed therapy dogs etc.). If you are interested in volunteering with them please fill out the form here.
